Definitions

"Qualified HVAC Professional" refers to a technician certified and authorized by provincial/state regulatory bodies to perform HVAC installations.

"Qualified Installation" means installation performed by a Qualified HVAC Professional, following all Solar Cooling installation manuals and applicable building codes.

"Normal Use" refers to operation within temperature, voltage, and environmental conditions specified in the product documentation.

Warranty Coverage

Solar Cooling warrants that its products are free from defects in materials under normal use, subject to the terms and duration outlined below. All warranty periods begin on the date of original purchase.

This Warranty Covers

Our warranty is designed to address defects that occur from normal use when installed by a qualified professional. This warranty remains valid only if regular maintenance, such as filter replacement and professional inspection, is performed as required. Additionally, to activate the warranty, the system must include a DC surge protector and DC breaker (if solar panels are installed), as well as an AC disconnect switch (if connected to the electrical grid).

This Warranty Does Not Cover

This warranty does not apply in the following situations:

  • Installation, Use, and Modification Issues: Any failure resulting from improper installation*, incorrect use, insufficient maintenance, unauthorized modifications or servicing, or operation outside the product's specifications.
  • Unsupported Components: Use of parts or supplies not provided or endorsed by Solar Cooling.
  • Environmental and External Conditions: Damage caused by poor water or air quality (e.g., high mineral content or salt exposure), extreme weather, natural disasters (floods, wind, fire, lightning), corrosive environments (e.g., rust), or any other external factor beyond the control of Solar Cooling.
  • Reinstallation or Relocation: Damage or issues that arise from relocating or reinstalling the product after the initial setup.
  • Diagnostic, Labour, and Service Costs: This is a parts-only warranty. Before a warranty claim can be evaluated or approved, the system must be inspected and diagnosed on-site by the original installer or another qualified, licensed or certified HVAC/refrigeration professional. The customer is responsible for arranging and paying for this diagnostic, even if the diagnosis confirms that a covered part is defective. Solar Cooling’s remote technical support does not replace the required on-site diagnosis. The warranty does not cover:
    • Diagnostic, inspection, troubleshooting or service-call fees
    • Labour to repair the system or remove, install or replace parts or units
    • Travel, transportation, shipping, handling or related service charges
    • Refrigerant recovery, refill, replacement or disposal
    • Any other contractor or installation-related costs
  • Geographic Limitations: Products installed outside Canada or the U.S.A. are not covered.
  • Routine Maintenance: Tasks such as filter cleaning or replacement and lubrication, as outlined in the Owner's Manual or installation/service documentation, are the customer's responsibility.
  • Damage from Misuse or Unauthorized Work: Any failure due to faulty installation, misapplication, abuse, improper servicing, unauthorized alterations, or incorrect operation.
  • Consequential Damages: SOLAR COOLING is not liable for any special, indirect, or consequential property or commercial damages of any kind.
  • Products that are not purchased through Solar Cooling or Solar Cooling website, or a Solar Cooling approved dealer are not covered under this warranty.
  • Unauthorized firmware updates/upgrades/patches.

*An installation is considered improper if it does not comply with Solar Cooling’s installation instructions or with all applicable federal, state, provincial, territorial, and local laws, regulations, codes, permits, and licensing requirements. Installation must be performed by qualified licensed or certified professionals, as required by the jurisdiction, including for HVAC/refrigeration and electrical work.

Product Registration & Warranty Activation

A proof of installation by a qualified HVAC professional is required to activate this warranty. To activate the warranty, the product must be registered within 90 days of the original installation date.

As part of the claim process, the product will be either repaired or replaced, at Solar Cooling's discretion. The warranty covers only the compressor and replacement parts; labor and other associated costs are not included.

Before a warranty claim can be evaluated or approved, the system must be inspected and diagnosed on-site by the original installer or another qualified, licensed or certified HVAC/refrigeration professional. The customer is responsible for arranging and paying for this diagnostic, even if the diagnosis confirms that a covered part is defective. Solar Cooling’s remote technical support does not replace the required on-site diagnosis.

Limitations of Warranty

To the extent allowed by local law, Solar Cooling disclaims all other warranties or conditions, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, satisfactory quality, or fitness for a particular purpose. The express warranty set forth in this document is exclusive and may not be altered, extended, or modified by any distributor, dealer, or other party.

Limitations of Liability

To the extent allowed by local law, the remedies provided in this Limited Warranty are your sole and exclusive remedies. To the extent allowed by local law, in no event shall Solar Cooling be liable for direct, indirect, special, incidental, or consequential damages, whether based on contract, tort, or any other legal theory, and whether advised of the possibility of such damages.
